Most of the time, an e-Transfer payment only takes a few seconds to a few minutes to be processed.
Right after we receive the funds, the gift card will be emailed out.
However, occasionally an e-Transfer payment needs more time (from 30 minutes up to 48 hours) to be fully completed.
If you check the status of your e-Transfer transaction in your online banking app, you can check if the transaction is completed. Here are examples from TD Bank and ScotiaBank.
The status “Transfer sent” means the payment is on the way, but the recipient has not yet received the funds.
The status “Deposited” means the transaction is fully completed, and the recipient has received funds, and your gift card will be issued shortly.
If your bank app doesn’t show the e-Transfer status and you haven’t received the gift card a few hours after the e-Transfer payment:
Please contact your bank to make sure your bank clears the e-Transfer payment. We have had customers’ funds held by their banks for a few hours.
Check Your Spam Email
Please make sure to check your spam email. Sometimes, the gift card email can go to the spam email or promotion tab if you use Gmail. If the email is sent to the spam folder, the gift card image and the claim gift card button might not be viewable.
