About Mountain Equipment Company
Revamped from Mountain Equipment Co-op, MEC was founded in 1971 in Vancouver, BC and became a chain of retail stores selling equipment and clothing made for outdoor recreation while contributing to ethical and environmental causes. They host their own products alongside many well-known outerwear brands, such as North Face, Patagonia, Salomon and more. With hundreds of stores in dozens of cities in Canada.
